- Responsible for the development and maintenance of Project Schedules ranging from Level I milestone schedules to detailed level III in an integrated Master Schedule environment • Expert knowledge in front-end and back-end of Primavera 6, with ability to dually support database and IT activities, Certified Primavera 6 Administrator • Required to review and penetrate schedules including schedule integrity, durations, resources and logic analysis • Demonstrated proficiency in earned value management and critical path analysis • Must have experience on large complex engineering and construction in fixed price and/or T&M environment • Full competency in principle and application of Primavera 6 and Microsoft Enterprise Office Suite • Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills in a team environment. • Responsible for assisting with various project related technical activities, and other ad hoc analysis and reporting as required by the organization • Opportunity to enhance existing PMCoE (Project Management Center of Excellence) policies, procedures and analysis techniques that will enable the successful project controls management of major engineering and construction work within the Corporation • Must be a highly engaged self-starter working with little or no supervision identifying problems and offering possible solutions and taking appropriate action for resolution. • This is the expert level of the Project Controls classification hierarchy. • Lead the development of the reporting systems for project controls assignments. • Perform complex aspects of individual project estimating, scheduling, change documentation and cost control while reporting up to program or portfolio level as well as trains and teaches other members of PC organization with minimal supervision and wide latitude for non-reviewed work
Required Skills: • Requires college level reasoning via formal education and/or work experience. • Requires understanding and application of basic project controls principles. • Requires proficient to expert use, understanding and application of project controls principles and associated project controls software tools. • Leads development and maintenance of WBS, project schedules, cost estimates, track and trend cash flow reports, change control documentation (scope, cost or schedule) and/or any reports associated with project controls. Tracks and reports project status performs variance, earned value and critical path analyses at a level appropriate for the project. • Create and Maintain Project Schedule and Cost • Lead Development / Generation of Periodic Project Controls Reporting • Provide leadership in development and generation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly project controls reports • Provide presentation quality report and be available to present if needed to project team/management team • Lead and Perform Schedule, Cost, and Change Control • Track and manage changes to the project scope, schedule and cost baseline • Identify, assess, gain approval for, and distribute change requests, change notices and/or change orders in a manner compliant with internal governance standards and terms and conditions of relevant contracts, as needed • Lead team through audit reviews and reporting • Oversee Project Controls Benchmarking and Self-Assessment Initiatives • Assist in scheduling and carrying out benchmarking and self-assessment initiatives relevant to project controls and the types of projects typically managed by the project controls group • Identify and communicate improvement opportunities, adoption of best practices and counter measures to address gaps in performance • Responsible for maintaining effective relationships with customers, supports the resolution of quality issues and complete assignments (proposals, project tasks, reports, etc.) within negotiated budgets and schedules.
Required Certifications/Degree: • 4 year degree – business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent • Related experience in lieu of degree 10+ Years
Preferred/Desired Certifications/Degree: • PMI or AACE certification (the following or equivalent are acceptable - PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, AACE-EVP) within the first 24 months of placement • Certified Primavera 6 Administrator • Masters – business, finance, accounting, cost engineering, project management, or equivalent • Proficiency/Expertise with project management / project controls concepts / computer applications / analytics • Risk management tools / Monte Carlo analysis • Software such as WinEST, PRISM, MS Project/MS Office Suite, Primavera 6, Microsoft Visio, Business Objects, Prolog, Passport, PowerPlant, Emax, PeopleSoft, Maximo, Primavera 6, Microsoft PowerPivot, PowerBI, Analytics.
