Cuso International’s e-volunteering program welcomes new and returning volunteers to work with our international program partners and volunteers remotely. E-volunteering offers many of the benefits gained from on-site volunteering, while having the extra advantage of fitting in one's regular weekly schedule without needing a passport. Cuso International Bolivia is searching for a volunteer like you to support our partner Fundación PUKARA and their producers in their search for market opportunities in Canada for their natural medicinal products.
Fundación PUKARA is the social branch of Grupo ALCOS, a leader in the pharmaceutic industry in Bolivia. As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility activities, the company has recently launched a medicinal plant-based product line made from traditional medicinal practices in Bolivia.
Cuso International has been supporting two of their suppliers, female producers' associations from the departments of Santa Cruz and Chuquisaca since 2016.
As an e-volunteer, you will support the associations in their business training in order to reduce the bottlenecks in the making of their products from beginning to end - production all the way to the delivery - to increase the income in their communities.
As an e-volunteer, you will:
- Explore interest in medicinal products through market research of Canadian opportunities.
- Research and provide information on importation processes for Canada of medicinal products or plant-based products.
Essential Academic Qualifications:
- Degree in business management, administration, marketing or other relevant areas.

- Experience on making market research
- Technology savvy

Based on approval, we will provide reimbursement for communications expenses related to your placement, such as Skype minutes, photocopying, and mail. We will reimburse to a maximum amount of $20 per month, with receipts, to a maximum of $100 for the length of the placement. Long-distance telephone call expenses will not be covered.
Technical requirements and considerations: E-Volunteers are expected to supply their own basic home office equipment and have a moderate knowledge of computer technology. Some of our partners are located in remote areas with unreliable internet connection. Consequently, it is reasonable to assume that when working with the partners, emails will not be responded to immediately. For most of our partners, this is their first experience working with e-volunteers and flexibility and patience will be required for this placement.
