Graphic Designer (E-Volunteer)

Cuso International’s e-volunteering program welcomes new and returning volunteers to work with our international program partners and volunteers remotely. E-volunteering offers many of the benefits gained from on-site volunteering, while having the extra advantage of fitting in one's regular weekly schedule without needing a passport. Contributing and giving back to a community, gaining new skills, and making new connections are common benefits of e-volunteering and for Cuso International it is a great opportunity to engage more people in its mission.

The Volunteer’s Role


Cuso international Bolivia is searching for a volunteer like you to support the Asociación de Pequeñas Productoras Agropecuarias y Artesanales del Municipio del Alcalá (APAMA) in the development of logos, labels and related graphics for their new product line.

You will guide this female producers' association by creating their marketing material and amping up their website so that they can reach a wider range of audiences. You'll work in coordination with our international volunteers in Bolivia to support these hard-working women and help them grow their business.

As an e-volunteer, you will:

- Review their current labels and logo and offer recommendations.

- Modify their existing marketing materials and if needed, create new ones.

- Support in the design of an easy-to-navigate website with the potential to grow the selling of their products.

Essential Academic Qualifications:

- Diploma or degree in marketing, advertising, media, communications or other related field. Essential Professional Background:

- Excellent language, grammar and punctuation in Spanish and English

- Knowledge in publishing articles across multiple channels – web, blogs, search, social, e-mail, etc.

- Computer savvy: PowerPoint, Publisher, Word and Excel

- 2+ years of professional experience as a copywriter

- Minimum 1 year of experience working in marketing and communications with a focus on content strategy and development

- Experience in effectively presenting creative ideas

* Might be required to show a writing portfolio

Cuso International Bolivia

Cuso International Bolivia has been operating for over 40 years with local partners supporting development through the efforts of professional volunteers from Canada and Latin America. During the 2015-2019 period, Cuso International Bolivia is working under the Volunteer Opportunities for International Cooperation and Empowerment (VOICE) Project. Within this project, Cuso International Bolivia is focusing on two project areas: 1) Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth (ISEG) and 2) Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI).

Based on approval, we will provide reimbursement for communications expenses related to your placement, such as Skype minutes, photocopying, and mail. We will reimburse to a maximum amount of $20 per month, with receipts, to a maximum of $100 for the length of the placement. Long-distance telephone call expenses will not be covered.

Technical requirements and considerations: E-Volunteers are expected to supply their own basic home office equipment and have a moderate knowledge of computer technology. Some of our partners are located in remote areas with unreliable internet connection. Consequently, it is reasonable to assume that when working with the partners, emails will not be responded to immediately. For most of our partners, this is their first experience working with e-volunteers and flexibility and patience will be required for this placement.
