POSITION SUMMARY  

 

The Room Attendant Specialist role is an integral position within Deerhurst Resort. This role focuses on ensuring our cleanliness standards are upheld and our guests can check into clean rooms for their experience at the Resort. Our Room Attendant Specialists are valued for their attention to detail, time management skills and a teamwork driven attitude.

  

TRAINING PROGRESSION

 

Full-time Room Attendants are hired with the intention of training towards the Room Attendant Specialist role, and will participate in a minimum 6-week training program.

Each week will focus on building speed and a cleaning routine specific to each zone on the Resort; while getting to know fellow HOSTS and the resort layout.

 

Bi-Weekly meetings will be set to review the Employee's success in following criteria:

  1. Room Cleanliness
  2. Placement of Products/Furniture
  3. Speed of Clean (meeting weekly credit goals)
  4. Time + Priority Management

Successful HOSTS must meet the following goals by the completion of the training program in order to be promoted to the role of Elite Resort Housekeeper:

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provides daily cleaning and sanitation per standards, including but not limited to: Guest Rooms, Storage Areas and Public Corridors
  • Cleaning of guestrooms includes but is not limited to: making beds, cleaning and sanitizing washrooms, living areas and kitchens, vacuuming and washing of floors
  • Maintains equipment in a clean and proper working order, reporting any concerns in a timely manner.
  • Ensures correct placement of Furniture, Fixtures, Amenities & Equipment
  • Recognizes and greets all guests and team members with a smile
  • Ensures the well-being of our guests and team members by being alert to and reporting potential hazards
  • Models all Deerhurst Resort Standards while caring for guests, co-workers and owners
  • Responds to direct guest requests in an empathetic and timely manner
  • Ensures communication of maintenance issues in a timely manner
  • Provides support per the Emergency Response Plan as directed by the Supervisor, Duty Manager and/or Senior Leader on-site
  • Completes all other duties as assigned

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Guest oriented with a sincere, helpful, caring and friendly personality
  • Physically fit and able to bend, push, pull and lift continuously throughout the day
  • Able to take initiative within given guidelines
  • Pays precise attention to detail, order and cleanliness  
  • Time management and works well under pressure
  • Has exceptional energy, flexibility and professionalism  
  • Able to identify problems and make recommendations for improvements

PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF POSITION (include but are not limited to):

  • Able to move up and down stairs frequently  
  • Able to occasionally work outdoors in seasonal temperatures
  • Able to lift, bend, carry + move constantly 11 to 29 pounds, frequently 30 to 49 pounds, occasionally 50 to 75 pounds

Visa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in Canada.
