Manager Of Superintendent

Our client, a well-established and continuously evolving company specializing in project management for various areas such as design, construction, procurement and maintenance, is currently seeking a Manager of Superintendent to join their team in Montreal.


Job Function:

The responsibilities of the position are:



  • Establish and maintain close communication with the superintendents
  • Become a technical resource for the superintendents
  • Respond to and assist the business units when help is requested in dealing with a superintendent


Workload Assignment

  • Establish links between superintendents and other staff
  • Participate in the maintenance of the workload database
  • Liaise with the VP Operations and business unit directors and project managers relative to supervision requirements
  • Assign superintendents to the workload schedule


Recruitment and Training

  • Participate in evaluating the performance of the superintendents
  • Participate in defining the individual training needs
  • Actively participate in the recruitment of new superintendents
  • Travel as required to carry out the recruitment responsibilities
  • Participate in meeting training needs
  • Ensure the correct usage of the site file by the superintendents
  • Travel as required to carry out the evaluation and training responsibilities



  • Understand industry and best practice quality standards and how best to apply them
  • Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded within own function and in related functions, as appropriate


Health & Safety Policy and Programs

  • Has knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in the construction industry; CSST & CCQ, WCB, OSHA, the OHSA and Ministry of Labour regulations
  • Uphold Health & Safety Policy and Programs
Job Requirement:


Candidates must have several years of hands-on, job site-related experience. Candidates are required to have fluent  oral and written communication in both French and English, have well developed computer skills, and have proven problem-solving capabilities and ability to meet deadlines on time. Excellent organizational, management and leadership skills are a must.
