Vice President of Sales – CPG

 

Do you have a deep connection to the growing Natural Foods industry and a desire to make your mark on a sales organization? As a part of the Senior Leadership team, you will be a critical member of the management team overseeing the efforts of the sales team as well as specific key account activity. The Director of Sales plays a significant role in the overall strategic planning of the company and is a key driver when it comes to execution.   This position is based out of a centrally located head office in Metro Vancouver and will require up to 30% travel nationally.

Some of what you will be responsible for includes:

  • Manages managers and a team of 11-12 individuals, consisting of a Sales Manager, Sales Representatives, Key Account Manager and Business Development Managers.
  • Ensure a consistently high level of customer service and satisfaction
  • Calls on Loblaw's, Sobey's Head Office accounts directly
  • Accountable for the OPEX and Top Line sales deliverables
  • Conducts quarterly business reviews as well as annual performance reviews
  • Determines and tracks commissions and bonus payments
  • Reviews and approves all sales related expenses
  • Leverages the performance of the key accounts specifically among traditional grocery banners and the natural food channel
  • Development of overall long-term sales strategy
  • Collaboration on effective marketing program to drive results
  • Monitors and evaluates sales performance to maximize opportunities and determine strategic direction
  • Maintain an on the ground presence with the representatives and customers
  • Open new customers and continue to grow existing
  • Work fluidly in a matrix environment with marketing, finance and logistics etc.
  • Leads and/or participates in departmental as well as interdepartmental meetings

 

You should have most of the following in your background:

  • Candidates should have at minimum a five year successful history in both leading a sales team of 10 or more individuals as well as managing key accounts in the conventional grocery as well as the natural food channels
  • CPG experience
  • The successful candidate will be both a strategic thinker as well as have the ability to execute in a highly competitive fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and able to execute a plan effectively and with attention to the detail
  • Strong relationships with key Western Canadian retailers is the main success factor for the role
