Construction Manager

For the past 10 plus years our client has been building executive home in the lower mainland. As they continue to grow and add projects to their portfolio, they are looking to add a Construction Manager to the team. They have 3 projects planned over the next 5 years starting with a 60-unit townhouse project based in South Surrey. As the construction Manager, you will be responsible for all phases of construction from planning to completion. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising the trades and managing safety. If this role appeals to you we look forward to seeing your resume.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.

Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.

Attending and/or leading various meetings with appropriate stakeholders from project start-up meetings, subcontractor meetings, and reviews with Owners on project status

Managing a variety of project details including contract documents, estimates and tenders, subcontracts, material and supply quotations, purchase orders, shop drawings, change management etc.

Securing appropriate subcontracts, contract bonds, project insurance and other relevant particulars

Preparing and monitoring project schedules, updates, job costs, cost projections, and budget revisions throughout projects

Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.

Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.

Comply with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations.

 

Requirements:

 

Utilizes strong organizational skills.

Displays strong written and oral communication skills.

Analyzes problems and makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and costs.

Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities.

Must have 10 years  residential construction experience.
