Territory Manager - Consumer Packaged Goods - Specialty Retail

 

Our client is a Canadian consumer products manufacturer with a long legacy of success in their category.   Reporting to the Director of Sales – Western Canada – the Sales Account Manager will be responsible for sales and profitable management of products to assigned portfolio of Retail and Industrial customers in the Vancouver area.

 

Some of what you will do includes:

 

  • Profitable management of all aspects of a portfolio of assigned accounts which would include retail, direct to store, food service, and industrial food customers.
  • Develop and propose account specific sales objectives and strategies.
  • Develop knowledge of assigned accounts and their interaction within the industry as well as build proprietary relationships
  • Provide tactical guidelines for the growth and continuous development of the assigned customers, while focusing on sales volume.
  • Assist in regional and national sales and pricing strategies.
  • Execute administrative responsibilities related to the portfolio of accounts.
  • Play an influential role and make critical contributions to customer needs, pricing strategies and emerging applications of new/existing products and competitive dynamics.
  • Assist in developing sales strategies for the retail, food service, private label categories and identify opportunities for the development of value-added products.
  • Continually develop world commodity market knowledge and present to customers.
  • Participate in the development of various promotional projects and events.

 

In order to apply for this role you should have the following in your background:

 

  • University degree in Marketing /Business / Commerce.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant sales experience (experience in Consumer, Food Service, and/or Industrial Food industry would be an asset).
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and advanced Excel (including Pivot Tables and V-Look-ups).
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superb attention to detail, demonstrate good logic and time management skills.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Exercise independent decision making with a bold, nimble and collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Be a Team player.
