Product / Trade Marketing Manager

 

Our client is a leading local distributor of grocery and consumer products from around the world.   With a large and expanding vendor and sku base, they need a talented marketer to help with their growth.   Your role is to be the primary client point of contact for one or more international brand partners. You will be responsible for ensuring the right amount of product arrives in Canada for the appropriate consumption period, is label compliant, has a trade execution (marketing) plan built and all the sales executional elements in place to ensure your brands success. You will have budget and tactical execution responsibility as well as a strategic planning accountability.

 

Some of what you will do in this role includes:

 

  • Develops and executes brand’s national marketing plan in conjunction with vendor goals
  • Meets annual brand revenue and profitability targets
  • Actively participates in all brand-related decisions on future strategic direction of the brand
  • Nurtures relationships with our Vendors & our sales force by building brand awareness through the development & execution of strong marketing plans
  • Pro-actively communicates internally and externally new ideas, proposals, concepts, etc. for all potential areas of brand improvement
  • Creates and manages marketing expenditure budgets and responsible for managing spend within the allocated budget
  • Develops, communicates and tracks marketing strategies and tactics to the Sales team
  • Analyzing customer information, market research data, brand performance, competitive activities and advertising effectiveness
  • Responsible for all product launch related matters
  • Creates and executes trade/consumer show plans for the assigned brands
  • Where applicable coordinates and participates in the vendor quarterly review meetings by liaising with other relevant internal departments
  • Track & report brand performance identifying brand & competitor’s strength & weaknesses with corresponding tactics to address them
  • Primary contact with the vendor

 

In order to apply you should have most of the following in your background:

 

  • A background in Trade Marketing or Product Management
  • Experience with Importing
  • CPG, Grocery or other consumer product background
  • A strong sense of ethical integrity
  • Budget and financial management experience
  • Good handle on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good analytical mindset
  • Ability to present effectively
  • Self-starter with strong initiative
