Vice President of Sales – Consumer Packaged Goods


The Vice President of Sales oversees the global sales and business development of the company. As a member of the executive team, the VP of Sales reports directly to the CEO. The key areas of focus are: to develop and execute a global sales strategy that align and meet corporate objectives; to launch retail brands; to drive industrial bulk sales; and to build an outstanding sales team and broker network.


Some of what you will do in this role includes:  

  • Works with executive team to establish overall company strategy and goals.
  • Develop and execute global sales strategies for the various segments of the business that align and meet corporate goals.
  • Develop and manage the annual Sales Budgets.
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, development, motivating and coaching of all members of the sales and sales support team.
  • Develops templates and sales presentation tools to allow the Sales team to successfully roll out new listings, initiatives and promotions.
  • Develops the necessary CRM tools for effective sales management and reporting.
  • Works directly with sales team and broker network to ensure all sales targets are met - including pricing programs, promotional support, new listings execution, shelving & merchandising programs, and product initiatives.
  • Establishes Category Management principles for the retail brands. Provide support for all major account presentations.
  • Works directly with company's large key accounts.
  • Works collaboratively with the Marketing team on promotions, new product launches and market research.
  • Establishes measurable performance metrics to maximize sales results.
  • Ensures regular and purposeful business reviews are conducted.
  • Works with stakeholders to establish pricing (increase/decrease/programs) that maximize profits and topline sales results.


To apply for this role, you should have most of the following in your background:  

  • A minimum of 10 years Senior Sales Leadership experience with CPG brands, ideally within the Health/Natural Food segment.
  • Relationships with grocery decision makers at key accounts across Canada and USA.
  • Exemplary people management and leadership skills.
  • Strong business acumen and industry expertise.
  • Experience in all aspects of developing, planning and implementing sales strategy.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to turn analysis into effective strategies and plans.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of category management.
  • Ability to prioritize needs and meet deadlines.
  • Strong time management skills, good organization and ability to handle administrative requirements.
  • Strong sense of judgement.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Be positive, energetic and comfortable in an open, dynamic and collaborative company culture.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and marketing skills with proven follow through.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Possess an undergraduate degree or higher, preferably in business.
