Market Analyst – Consumer Products


Our client is a leading manufacturer of health food products and supplements. Due to the growth of their business, our client is looking to add to their team by hiring a Market Analyst. The Market Analyst will be responsible for managing data analytics to provide market, channel, customer and brand insights to support fact based business strategies and decisions. Responsible for streamlining corporate processes, data sources and tools, ensuring accuracy to make the organization more efficient and effective, while taking into consideration the company’s commitment to their core values.


Some of the things you will do in this role include:

  • Evaluates internal and external market data to provide succinct accurate analysis to identify larger trends, developments, strategic market initiatives and opportunities within the natural health products industry
  • Collects data on consumers, competitors and market place and consolidating information into actionable items, reports and presentations
  • Analyzes autonomously qualitative data, trends, strategies and competition aiming at increasing competitiveness
  • Provides competitive analysis on various companies’ market offerings, identify market trends, pricing/business models, sales and methods of operation
  • Establishes a standardized approach for goal-setting and tracking of brand performance against key KPIs
  • Participate in the development of marketing and sales budget
  • Understands business objectives and designing surveys to discover prospective customers’ preferences
  • This role is a subject matter expert and leads a future team to research all Sales and Marketing all ad hoc and standardized analysis
  • Works proactively with senior management to provide analytics to support the development of strategies and objectives by channel, segment and brands with the brand managers in the marketplace
  • Works with Product Managers to create process, new dashboards and training
  • Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions


In order to apply you should have the following in your background:

  • 5+ years' experience in market analysis / market research
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business or Sciences Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business or related area
  • Must have strong project management and relationship management skills
  • Proven market research analysis experience
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar), databases and MS Office
  • Search engines, web analytics and business research tools acumen
  • Familiarity with CRM programs
  • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing, modelling and mining
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking
  • Demonstrated ability as an excellent communicator
