Product Manager – Consumer Products

 

Our client is a leading manufacturer of health food products and supplements. Due to the growth of their business, our client is looking to add to their team by hiring a Product Manager. The Product Manager is a dynamic role that requires project management of all aspects of a new product launch process from conception through sales, with extensive experience in driving the development of many products across multiple channels, all at varying stages of development and planned launch dates, as well as continuously improve the company’s product development process.

 

Some of the things you will do in this role include:

  • Manage timeline and product development process from concept, formula development, testing, modifications, regulatory requirements, marketing, achieving Cost Of Goods (COG) target and sales validation to finished goods
  • Collaborate with multiple departments, particularly Sales, Supply, Procurement, Production, Formulations and Regulatory teams
  • Develop, implement and reinforce project management process and improvement initiatives to optimize overall department KPIs
  • Strong focus on prioritization, accuracy and high-volume project completion
  • Create and maintain project initiation and completion procedures
  • Develop claims and marketing story behind each product to maximize the success of campaigns, displays and sell sheets
  • Utilize trends and knowledge of competitive landscape to identify gaps in the current product assortment
  • Assist in developing and executing annual Marketing plans with emphasis on building brand velocity and market share in the absolute, in targeted key categories and in identified strategic retail partners
  • Identify and expand “core business” through complimentary and high consumption product/product lines that capture a new and younger customer base
  • Some travel required to ingredient and natural health product shows- vehicle and driver’s license required
  • Facilitate monthly product review and product development meetings
  • Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

 

In order to apply for this role, you should have the following in your background:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with concentration on product management / marketing, MBA a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of project management and relevant work experience required (natural products industry experience preferred)
  • Strong project management skills to drive multiple timelines within Smart Sheet, MS Excel and Share Point
  • Computer Proficiency Skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Smart Sheet
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams
  • Advanced communication skills essential
  • Strong leadership capabilities; ability to manage, motivate, and collaborate
  • Strong ideation and conceptual skills
  • Impeccable time management, work organization and follow up skills
  • Ability to manage a high volume of live projects concurrently
  • Must have a sense of urgency and be deadline-oriented
  • Strong, clear and succinct written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead teams and departments in a fast paced, high pressured environment
  • Ability to think strategically, create and execute tactics to reach strategic goals
