Import Wine Portfolio Manager
Our client is a globally recognized importer of world class wine products. Due to recent promotions, they are seeking an Import Portfolio Manager. The Import Portfolio Manager is the direct link to a portfolio of suppliers nationally, and is responsible for development of strategic business plans, ensuring alignment with our client’s strategic objectives, as well executing objectives that contribute to profit targets/margins and long-term marketing share for our client’s national import portfolio across channels in all English Canada.
Some of what you will do in this role includes:
Working with the National Director and Sales Manager’s assisting with the development and execution of short term revenue and profit targets/margins, and long-term market for our client’s wine business (BCLDB, BCLRS, Key Accounts Alberta, Alberta Independents, SLGA, SK grocery, MBLL, MBPWS, LCBO, NBLL, NSLC, PEILCC, NLC and National Licensee).
Responsible for working with the provincial teams on the development, implementation, and alignment of strategic business plans for a national portfolio of import suppliers (15 suppliers – subject to change) including sales, forecast targets, and budgets aligned with organizational strategies.
Responsible for developing in-trade programs and sell-in presentations; as well, development and management of corporate presentations delivered to customers: internal and external.
Direct link between company and the external export managers
Alignment with Trade Marketing to: maximize ROI; manage spending and recoverable budgets.
Manages trade marketing budget for recoverable and non-recoverable brands; tracks and manages performance in the channels.
Alignment with logistics and sales managers on product management, promotion strategy and inventory control.
Monitor, communicate, and recommend solutions regarding competitive activities and developments to the Director of Imports.
Work with Western Business Analyst and Trade Marketing Manager ensuring reports, sales tools and programming is provided to the teams.
Develops an understanding of each of the markets to understand the competitive landscape in both retail and licensee channels in English Canada.
Develops strong working relationship with the top key trade specialists.
Follows safe work procedures and practices and reports all unsafe working conditions / hazards to their reporting Manager.
In order to apply you should have the following in your background:
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Commerce with specialization in Marketing preferred
Minimum of 5 years trade Marketing experience combined with experience / knowledge of premium wine industry (products, channels) a significant asset
Ability to think strategically, analytically and creatively; ability to work under tight timelines & stressful situations
Exemplary leadership & customer service skills
Proficient in Microsoft platform, Excel and Word Need to have ability to learn internal Marketing/Sales database (eg: Tableau)
Familiar with Illustrator or similar design program
Some evening & weekend work related to the wine industry; travel within Canada and occasionally internationally
