NCA is very interested in receiving applications from potential crew members for the position of Fisheries Liaison Officer (FLO).

Job Requirement:

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Communication with Labrador Inuit commercial fishing vessels, advising on Labrador Inuit fisheries matters, regular reporting to our client and agencies, and other general fisheries liaison matters as required.
  • May also assist Marine Mammal and Seabird Observers (MMSOs) with observational and data recording duties.
  • Have knowledge/experience using marine radio equipment and a laptop computer will be an asset as well as knowledge/ experience with area commercial fisheries.
  • Spoken and written knowledge of Inuktitut and English is an asset.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must have the following valid certificates:

  • Approved survival course i.e. MED A1 STCW Basic Safety
  • WHMIS 2015
  • First Aid
  • Valid Transport Canada Approved Seafarers Medical
  • Canadian Passport
