R3D Consulting has undertaken a new search for an experienced, full-time SAP Solution Analyst for our client in Novi, MI. The focus of this role will be to provide project leadership and guidance in the area of ERP SAP Purchasing and Production Control & Logistics areas. This is a full-time position with an international auto-parts manufacturer and may also involve some travel in North America or Europe.


To be successful in this role you should have a good understanding of both discrete and repetitive manufacturing processes, along with skills and knowledge of SAP manufacturing modules, including integration with other, related SAP modules. You must be able to think in a global sense, satisfying business needs while at the same time enforcing corporate IT governance and avoiding duplication within the company.   You need to have a broad business knowledge so that you could also back-up other position holders, as needed.


Specifically, your duties and responsibilities would include:

  • Introduction and roll-out of the selected integrated ERP (SAP) globally at all client sites;
  • Optimization of client’s system & process landscape;
  • Assistance and optimization in the area of manufacturing processes in production planning, sequencing and confirmation as well as in manufacturing execution and Project Management / Business Requirement Gathering inventory management related to ERP;
  • Execution of Global IT Governance / Standardization;
  • Facilitate Power Users integration into their Future Support Role (Business user support);
  • Relationship Building with Business Process Sponsors / Regional Head of Business Team Leads;
  • Create / Maintain SAP Application Catalog template and keep current on business requirements;
  • Business support involves master data configuration, developing and communicating ad-hoc reports using SQVI or SQ01 or SE16N table extracts, explain and possibly train users with standard business processes followed within the company;
  • Support of the Inventory Management related processes and transactions including physical inventory process, inventory reports, various inventory transfer/issue transactions;
  • Develop, design, test and validate SAP configuration/customizing related to new business processes developed as part of the business process improvement initiatives;
  • Facilitate end to end process requirements documentation;
  • Identify opportunities for process organizational change in order to adopt standard SAP implementation processes;
  • Formalize specifications & implement solutions after Change advisory board approval;
  • Lead / coordinate the Purchasing, Production, Logistics CoE Support team to provide customer support when necessary; and
  • Other duties as required

To be considered for this role your background and experience should include most or all of the following:

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or Business Administration, or similar;
  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry, ideally in supply or parts manufacturing environment;
  • Experience with SAP (ECC 6) modules in Purchasing, Inventory Management IM), Materials Management (MM), related Master Data and movement types, cycle counting process, Production Order Creation, Warehouse Movements,  Logistics process related Master Data, and MRP.  
  • Proficient knowledge of MM integration with FICO, SD and PP;
  • Experience with HUM (Handling Unit Management) is necessary as well as knowledge of SAP RF and related transactions for shop floor execution;  
  • Project Management experience and experience in Change Management;
  • Profound knowledge of integrated ERP systems and processes in Logistics and Manufacturing fields;
  • Strong fluency in English (oral and written); and
  • Microsoft Office applications, client e-mail, basic networking and Microsoft operating systems.
