Job Description Details:

R3D Consulting is seeking a Senior level developer with solid Java & J2EE development skills for a new contract engagement with our client in the Electronic Heath Records industry. This is a 12 month contract with a strong likelihood of extension. While you will be able to mainly work remotely, you must be prepared to spend 1-2 days per week in one of our client’s offices in Cambridge, Toronto or Ottawa, once the pandemic restrictions are lifted.

In this role you will design, develop, test and maintain code on a rich-client Electronic Medical Records application used to manage patient files, treatments, and billing and connect to external health care systems supporting hospitals, pharmacies, and provincial health authorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform full lifecycle software development.
  • Write well designed, testable, Java code.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design issues and code errors.
  • Work in Agile development environment with multiple SCRUM teams.

To be considered for this role your background should include:

  • A minimum of 8 years experience working in J2SE or J2EE environment;
  • Experience working with Oracle and / or Postgres databases;
  • Experience writing SQL queries and analyzing SQL plans for performance improvement.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry, ideally with strong focus on Electronic Medical Records (EMR) applications for web & mobile;
  • Experience developing in Mac, Windows and Linux environments;
  • Experience with Kanban and Scrum as well as Swing based UI’s.
  • Must be a team player who can work in an Agile team of developers, QAs, and product owners.
