Brief Description:

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in Resonance’s Finance department. This position will be responsible for Payroll and assisting in the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including generating monthly invoices, posting cash receipts, recording accounts payable vouchers, processing vendor payments, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and other related responsibilities. The Staff Accountant will apply knowledge of accounting systems and will work closely with Resonance’s staff across departments to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.  This is a full-time position based in Burlington, VT, reporting to the Controller.


• Process bi-weekly payroll and posting staff timesheets from the timecard system to the general ledger
• Assist with Accounts Receivable, including generating and verifying accuracy of monthly invoices
• Post cash receipts on a weekly basis
• Assist with Accounts Payable, including input of vendor invoice data into accounting system
• Process employee expense reports and vendor payments
• Participate in monthly close process, including payroll entries, posting revenue, account reconciliations
• Liaise with technical teams and other operations departments to ensure accurate and timely information processing
• Design, prepare, and maintain various spreadsheets
• Ensure that work meets quality standards by reviewing for accuracy and proper completion, and monitoring output
• Complete special projects as assigned


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, with a minimum of 3 years’ related experience; OR a minimum of 5 years’ experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
• Ability to balance competing priorities effectively across job functions
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse team members
• Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to accurately enter, check, and analyze numerical data
• Experience working with accounting software applications (Deltek preferred)
• Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Eligibility to work in the US

• Experience working with USAID and/or other government agencies preferred
• Experience working in a cross-cultural, multi-lingual setting preferred
