Brief Description:

Resonance is exploring ways in which we can support corporate sustainability professionals to make the business case for sustainability within companies across a wide range of industries. Accordingly, we are seeking an MBA student (or recent MBA grad) as a Corporate Sustainability Fellow. We are looking for the Fellow to conduct market research to help answer the following questions:

• What metrics are used to measure corporate sustainability professional performance? In what ways do those metrics vary across industries?
• What other departments or functions (finance, HR, operations, etc.) do corporate sustainability professionals see as key internal stakeholders?
• What are the biggest challenges (pain points) facing corporate sustainability professionals within their organizations?
• What external organizations, resources, events, publications or networks do corporate sustainability professionals rely upon for their own professional development? What products or services do they offer?
• In companies where sustainability has received broad internal support, what were the drivers of the shift?
• Based on the above research and analysis, the Fellow will provide findings and recommendations regarding Resonance’s strategy regarding Corporate Sustainability. What is the best modality for Resonance to explore further?



1. Desk Review and Key Informant interview list. The Fellow will conduct a thorough desk review, including a literature review and generating a list of up 30-50 key informants in corporate sustainability to be interviewed for this research.
2. Key Informant Interviews. Based on the above list, the Fellow will interview 25-30 corporate sustainability professionals across a variety of industries. In addition, the Fellow will conduct 5-10 internal interviews to better understand Resonance capabilities.
3. Draft Presentation. The Fellow will prepare a draft report in PowerPoint format for Resonance to provide comment, feedback and request clarifications/edits/changes.
4. Final Presentation. Upon approval of the revised report, the Fellow will deliver the presentation to Resonance staff and leadership. The Fellow will provide a copy of the PowerPoint in both ppt and pdf formats
5. Blogpost. Working with Resonance communications staff, the Fellow will draft a blogpost on Corporate Sustainability for posting on Resonance website.
6. Bibliography and List of Contacts. The Fellow will prepare a list of sources cited as well as a list (including current contact information) of key informants interviewed.


• Currently enrolled in (or a recent grad of) a graduate program in business (MBA), finance, economics or related field.
• Not less than 2 years previous professional experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to and interest in Corporate Sustainability.
• Possess strong qualitative and quantitative research skills.
• Demonstrate outstanding written and oral communications skills.
• Previous experience in market research and/or management consulting helpful, but not required.
